This hotfix solves an issue where encrypted data is lost in the following scenario:
1. You use a Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2)-based computer.
2. You log on to the computer as a local user.
3. You receive a password expiration notification message.
4. You change the password to a new password.
After you change the password, you cannot access encrypted data on your computer, including EFS files, certificates, and certain configuration information that Lenovo software (including Client Security Solution and Rescue and Recovery) uses. |
